WORKING DIRECTORS AND / SENIOR ADVISORS: Mr. J. P. L. Srivastava is a former Director General of Forests & Special Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, besides having worked with the State Governments and International Organisations, including the UN Development Programme, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, International Fund for Agriculture Development and the UK Department for International Development. As Principal Chief Conservator of Forests of Haryana State, he was responsible for the development and management of the State’s forests and promoted an exemplary programme of trees outside forests, peoples participation and major social forestry projects funded by the European Union and Japan. He has been associated with development of national forest fire control and prevention programmes, social forestry, forest conservation and protection, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and rural development and poverty alleviation. He has worked as UN advisor on tehse and related issues in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Mozambique, Myanmar, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Vietnam.
